Retrofitting terraced houses on Philip Street

Over the summer of 2022 SCHA made major improvements to four of our houses on Philip Street. These houses are leased from Bristol City Council. SCHA has committed to upgrading these houses in return for 50 year low cost leases. These terraced houses have had external wall insulation, triple-glazed windows and new thermally efficient front doors installed to their front elevations. Their appearance has been transformed.

These works have also made these homes much more energy efficiency and will cut the heating costs and improve comfort for our tenants/members. The main contractor for the improvements was insulation and sustainable building specialists Urban-Eco. They installed eco-friendly wood fibre wall insulation.
